The ultimate utilitarian bike. Rack for beer, bell for pedestrians, curved bar for comfort, just pedal it!!! I bought this from an old friend for a $100. It was a bone stock 1991 (I think) Specialized Rockhopper. I changed the fork to a straight Cannondale steel unit. Added the rack, replaced the Biopace rings with 2 round rings. Added some stickers. This was my main machine for Critical Mass rides in San Francisco when I lived in the Bay Area.

This bike has been to 2 NASCAR Nextel Cup races at the California Speedway.

  • The Ride: steel, good handling
  • Climbing ability: ok
  • Cruise factor: Rides smooth, not for racing
